Liburna

Liburna galley on a crest, LivornoYou can see this shield on the corner of “Via dell’Angiolo” and “Via delle Galere”. It is on the building of the “KinoDessé” movie theater and represents a stylized Liburna, a small galley, used as a symbol by our Chamber of Commerce.

Interesting find VP, I agree with Ciel, the street names sound very romantic to me! btw love the little ladybug on your 'chilli horseshoe'.

I had to go read about the Liburna. Your post makes me realize that here in Jerusalem we often think of the Roman Legion, the army; but we tend to forget that Rome also had a navy.
