The “Moby Drea” was born in Lübeck in 1975 as “Tor Britannia” and was used for ferry service between Germany, Sweden, Holland and the United Kingdom. Tired of the North Sea, in 2003 the ship gaudily repainted itself, took a fancy name and retired to the warmer waters of the Mediterranean.
This 184 meters cruiseferry has four hundred cabins, a pool and a children's play area. It runs the Moby Lines routes Livorno-Olbia or Genova-Porto Torres.Search labels: Moby - ferry

I've been waiting for this photo since TAN event :). Let me refresh my memory, in the first photo is Silvester, second photo: Woody Woodpecker, Bugs Bunny, Tazmanian Devil, Tweety and ...I forget.
Now I am so curious of how a ship repaints itself! This is so cute and fun and out of the ordinary, must make even the grumpiest person smile!!
How can you not love Sylvester? And all his buddies on the side, priceless.
If ships get to re-invent themselves, surely we can too.

That is fantastic. What a great way to be noticed in port. I would bet the kids especially love it.
What a happy cruiseferry, excellent. Maybe we should paint our war ships with a little more public relations in mind. :-)
Yes - that does not quite seem to fit into the old Italian style. It would look better in the Carribbean!

It seems the ship is doing well in the Mediterranean.
While the ship is appealing, I find it sad that it uses Warner Bros. cartoon characters rather than something more in keeping with the locale.
With all the cartoons painted on it, the whole ship looks like a playground :)
